 |  On the left is the shore of the freshwater Lake Rotoma, just south of Lake Rotorua. My friend and I stopped for a rest and noticed movement in the seaweed along the edges. Closer inspection revealed thousands of bees, all alive but waterlogged and acting as though they were intoxicated. We were amazed as we watched the bees dragging themselves over the weed. I can only think something in the weed acts as an aphrodisiac perhaps. Truly beezarre.
